Denzel Washington’s action-packed film, “The Equalizer 3,” dominated the Labor Day weekend box office, raking in an impressive $34.5 million between Friday and Sunday, with an estimated total of $42 million including Monday’s holiday ticket sales. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and released by Sony Pictures, this thrilling installment follows retired government assassin Robert McCall as he unleashes a wave of vigilante justice in Naples, Italy, leaving audiences on the edge of their seats.

Overseas, the movie earned an additional $26 million, bringing its global total to a staggering $60.6 million by Sunday, surpassing the previous films in the franchise by 19 and 29 percent, respectively. With Denzel Washington’s star power and the lack of recent action movies for men, “The Equalizer 3” proves that Washington remains one of the few true movie stars in the industry today, captivating audiences worldwide. Co-starring Dakota Fanning and featuring an unexpected twist that connects to the previous films, this may be the final installment of the franchise, although director Antoine Fuqua hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of a fourth film, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what the future holds.

“I believe this would be it. We’ve both talked about it that way. But you never know!” Fuqua said. “Obviously, if [Washington] wanted to do another one, I would as well, but I don’t see it. But who knows?”
