Bowling Green Junior High is now accepting applications for the Black Male Scholars Program. The program will expand to sixth and seventh grades for 2022-2023, with new enrollment offered to 25 incoming 6th graders and up to five additional incoming 7th graders. The overall initiative is intended to highlight black male students while building self-esteem, confidence through mentorship and rigorous academic programming which will equip them for rewarding careers.

“The Black Male Scholars program is a one-of-a kind program for Bowling Green Junior High. It sets our school apart from the other junior highs in the area. We are hopeful this expansion will add significant value to these students’ junior high years and help them prepare for success beyond graduation.”

Robert Lightning, BGJHS Principal
